PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Students at NESA will learn correct basketball skills and increase self-esteem and motivation for use in their everyday lives. As students gain the necessary disciplines to compete within a specific sport, they will also gain the confidence to experiment with other activities. They will develop better hand-and-eye coordination that will not only help them with basketball, but will be useful in many other sports.

RECREATIONAL CLASSES
3-4 year old classes
Classes will consist of young students' familiarizing themselves with the basketball and how to move with the ball in motion. This will include skills such as dribbling across the court or through different obstacle courses, shooting, and passing from one player to another. Most importantly, players will improve self-esteem, hand-and-eye coordination, and confidence to continue to learn the sport.

5-6 year old classes
Classes consist of continued instruction on handling the ball, while moving in different patterns throughout the court. Skills such as dribbling, shooting, and passing will become easier and more efficient throughout classes. Players will also learn how to combine their skills with other players, to produce teamwork on the court. Confidence, self-esteem, and an overall love for the sport will flourish during class.

7-10 year old classes
Classes provide a foundation of the proper fundamentals of dribbling, shooting, passing, and overall teamwork. Players will use these strong basic skills in situational play, learning patterns, and techniques of moving across the court. Also, different types of offensive and defensive strategies will be explored with the use of teamwork and communication among players.

11-15 year old classes
Classes will continue to teach and practice proper fundamentals of dribbling, shooting, passing, and teamwork. Practices will concentrate on different shooting techniques from all different angles and distances on the court. Drills will improve the work of individual and group ball handling, while incorporating different offensive and defensive strategies.

Use of teamwork will improve the students' game and individual skills as a player. Confidence and motivation to improve and learn will become part of the athlete's accomplishments.
